Mt Coolum Hike & Beach Day
Join us as we head up the coast to celebrate the start of summer with a scenic hike up the ancient volcanic dome of Mt Coolum followed by an optional swim and lunch on the beach. Mt Coolum is located just 90 minutes from Brisbane on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The hike is around 2km long, mostly paved but fairly steep, offers spectacular views from the 200m summit over the pacific ocean and nearby coastal townships.
HIKE KEY EVENT DETAILS – Mt Coolum is a 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane. – Meeting at the start of the hike at 9:30am. The hike is expected to take around 2 hours to complete allowing us plenty of time at the top for photos, to explore and to relax. – Parking is available at the base of the mountain, type “Mt Coolum Climb” into google to find the location for the start of the hike. – The hike is about 2km round trip and is great for beginner and medium-level hikers and consists of mostly steps and pathways (no vertical climbing). – Make sure you wear closed-in shoes and bring a water bottle and sun protection. – Car Pooling will be available
BEACH DAY EVENT DETAILS – We will be meeting at 11:30am at Coolum Beach, this time may change depending on how long the hike will take. – Keep an eye on the Tom Social exchange as we will post a picture and location details once we find a good spot, otherwise text Todd or Wade for more details. – Don’t forget your sunscreen, towel and swimmers!
