Winding through ancient Antarctic Beech forest, along exposed escarpments and into heath-land, be amazed by the rich abundance of birds and unique wildlife that inhabit this complex and diverse ecosystem.
The unique isolation provides the perfect escape from the stresses of every day life and a chance to get back to basics, interact with nature and experience a freedom & sense of peace that few places can offer.

Camping options

There are three accommodation options for Tom Social campers (and non-campers):
OPTION ONE: Pitch your own tent ($28 for 2 nights)
Pitch your own tent within a dedicated non-powered rainforest site (with access to hot showers and clean toilets). Depending on your tent size, sites can hold up to two tents and four people. Cost is $28 per person for the two nights.
OPTION TWO: Safari huts ($40 for 2 nights)
Enjoy the camping experience without the hassle of bringing your own tent and mattress. The Safari share tents are furnished with bunk bed mattress (BYO linen and pillows), lighting, cupboard and a front veranda with table and chairs. This option is priced at $40 per person for 2 nights – making it a cheap weekend away without purchasing any camping gear. We will allocate people per hut so you won’t need to organise your own group.

OPTION THREE: Hotel accommodation (from $150)
If you’re not prepared to get too close with nature and would prefer your own full service cabin or house retreat, you can still book your own accommodation separately. If you’re doing this option, please let us know so we can incorporate you into our planning.

How to book

If you want to come along you must purchase a $20 deposit ticket from tomsocial.com.au. This will ensure we keep a spot for you. Once we know who is coming along, we will be in touch regarding further requirements (site allocation, extra payments etc).
How do I get there?
Tom Social will be arranging car pooling where possible, however, may be a bit difficult if you’re bringing your own tent. The drive from Brisbane is about 1hr 30mins.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes, members can bring guests along camping as long as they would be considered a prospective member (ie. men who like men) and are considering joining Tom Social. There may be slightly higher meal fees for non-members.
I’ve never camped before, should I still come?
Absolutely! We have carefully selected this location to cater for first-time campers, pro campers and non-camping glampers. We think you’ll have a terrific time!
I can’t get Friday off work – can I still come?
Yes, you’re welcome to join us on Friday night after work or Saturday morning, however, depending on site figuration the costs may still have to be the same.
What should I bring?
All campers will receive an information pack about what to bring and what to expect closer to the weekend. We first need to determine how many people are coming.
What are the shared tent configurations?
Tom Social will allocate the shared tent configurations once we will know full numbers and closer to the date.
